Ritchie Smith
For many years, Mainland Machinery has done work for Ritchie Smith. In fact, Mainland was involved in the design, construction and equipment installation of every major expansion since 1971. So, it was no surprise when Ritchie Smith decided to expand, they approached us to be involved in construction of a new mill. Mainland was involved in the fabrication and erection of structural steel and the installation of storage bins and feed mill equipment.
Lafarge - Texada Island
Lafarge Concrete required an expansion to an existing rock quarry operation. A year and a half prior to construction, Mainland was approached by Lafarge to be involved as part of the initial design team. When it came time to tender the project, Mainland was first on the list of highly regarded fabricators as we had proven our ability to understand the needs of our customer.

Enviro 2000 - Pelletizer
Mainland was approached with a concept and photos of a prototype of a machine that was designed to punch wood pellets out of sawdust. Even though we had never seen the prototype run, we were able to take this concept and develop it into a working machine. The new pelletizer is now designed to effectively punch a variety of materials such as wood, chicken manure, soap and other organic waste.
Mud Tank - Design & Fabrication
Our customers get what they want. In this case our customer wanted 2 mud tanks and he wanted them built in a hurry. The problem was that he was waiting for an engineer to produce drawings. Time was running out and he ran the risk of not completing the mud tanks in time for drilling season. We said, “Why wait? Why don’t we do the drawings for you?” “You do that?” he said. From there, we took his few sketches and started designing. Within 1 week we had completed the preliminary drawings. One week later we had working drawings and through on-going communication with our customer, we were able to incorporate everything he needed in his mud tank. We delivered his 2 mud tanks in time for drilling season thanks to our full range of service and quick turn around time.
Coquitlam Centre
This fast-tracked project included exposed architectural and structural steel and required constant administration and flexible production in order to meet all the various fabrication and scheduling requirements.

Since this project included renovation of an existing public facility, much of the work had to be done after hours or had to be coordinated with the shopping centre's hours of operation.
